Welcome to the West Island Guide Hello & welcome back from an amazing summer! Yes, it’s already been 3 years of "GUIDING" WEST ISLANDERS, with great pride and, due in no small measure, to the continued support of, both, readers and advertisers. We have increased our distribution to all of the West Island! Which means that every house from Dorval/Pte-Claire to Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue/Senneville is now covered - 65,000 copies in all, delivered by Canada Post and reaching 150,000 readers.
I would like to take a moment to tell you how that public support truly warms my heart. I’ve always known there was a need for a magazine "just" for West islanders - and can now confirm that you all "agree"! A huge "THANK YOU" to you, our wonderful West Island residents and home owners, for making us the #1 Resource in your community. If this is your first time browsing our WEST ISLAND GUIDE, please participate in our monthly draws and feel free to contribute comments, suggestions or "beefs"! Your encouragement and support are exceptional, please keep them coming. We are YOUR WEST ISLAND MAGAZINE – bringing you our advertisers’ messages along with exclusive discounts and lots of useful info about events and services available to West Islanders plus monthly draws for prizes and gift certificates. We’ve worked very hard, over the years, to seek and work with only respected, responsible businesses, offering a great variety of needed and desired products and services. Whenever possible, use local businesses such as the ones we have showcased in this issue - they tend to provide a more personal degree of service and have a vested interest in developing longterm, lasting relationships with their clients. The West Island is a phenominal place to live! Our sense of community is strong - let’s continue to "grow" and "protect" it. WHAT'S NEW AT W.I. GUIDE? The "WI Guide" takes on its full length name of "WEST ISLAND GUIDE" due to its use of it by its readers and advertisers. You will find the long awaited "Seniors Section".
We’d like to say "THANK YOU" to all the wonderful West Island Volunteers. What makes the West Island such a great place is all of its amazing volunteers and charity organizations. As an initiative, we are also very proud of our new relationship with WEST ISLAND COMMUNITY SHARES. They are a non-profit fund raising organization that provides for various charity organizations helping so many West Islanders. So far this year they have raised $300,000 hoping to reach their annual goal of $1,000,000 by March 31. Our support is given in the form that we will donate to the West Island Community Shares a portion of the advertisement price of any business who donates (time or financially) with them and advertises with us. With this we hope to raise awareness to those who don’t yet know of the marvellous services available and by extent help as many West Islanders as possible. For our advertisers, we have teamed up with BoomersForever.com, an exclusive on-line magazine. When you advertise with both of us you get a total savings of $100. Mixed media advertisement is an excellent channel and we are always working to help you grow.
